Meadham Kirchhoff Spring/Summer RTW 2012

Meadham Kirchhoff
Edward Meadham & Benjamin Kirchhoff

Sept. 20, 2011 - London

"Cheeky," she sparkled at the boys impudently staring at her from across the playhouse. This young girl wasn't ordinary, and she hated being called "cute" because she saw herself as a rather peculiar being, and so did everyone else. She had no friends at school, but she didn't care: her time was spent with fantastical stories about wizards and kings and jesters - and not to forget the lands she traveled to when no one was else aware.
It was never her birthday, but she was eternally offered banquets in her honour by Queens and faeries. It was never her birthday, but she sat amongst the most richest of fabrics and gold.
It was never her birthday, but she was always allowed to eat cake.

The video for this show is even more intense, like the Jill Stuart show on ecstasy...or just plain old Courtney Love. Check it out.

“Don’t be such a pushover,” Ilsa ordered herself. She knew she was a highly impressionable girl, and that was reasonable, but she knew it wasn’t decent now that she was landing her plane in womanhood, “you’re a dame.” This was her second week at the factory, the first time she had ever touched machinery other than a stove in her life - Ilsa wasn’t a snob, she just never needed to hold a position in the force before the war.  At least she wouldn’t get greasy replacing her father’s job as an manager. “We were meant to be,” she articulated to the assembly line belt down below. She continued work, assigning this gobbledegook aside.

"Dame" by Sveta Bout - Check her out! A couple of years back, Ms. Bout auditioned her way through high school plays with my older brother. Now she's being featured in renowned magazines, including The Rolling Stone. Her catchy, lady-like tunes have captured the audiences of NYC, and her song "Dame" was an inspiration for this short.

The sun’s light is creating flowery shadows on the spring green grass through the new leaves dancing amongst the trees. My laced parasol fits just right beneath their sweet branches. I am searching through these cool patches for a bouquet of daisies to water in my icy-white porcelain vase. There are pastel-coloured blossoms already kissing the breezy spring air. The bunny rabbits are peeking from beneath the soft earth, the shy frogs are hopping into the reflected skies. Behind the hydrangeas I have found my dearests, my namesake.

Kate Moss, in her late thirties, closes the show!

“El Torero está aquí!” The crowd of royal spectators vociferated into the hot, sun-lit bull fighting stadium. Women and men emblazoned in trickles of Gold and it’s under-rated cousin, Bronze, stood and watched with anticipated suspense as the montera-sporting fighter drew out his wall of seduction. The hundreds of bolero jackets, dark capes, and frilled dresses reined their frivolous passion of yelling out directions to the man whose life was glimmering on the edge of muerte.

Sept. 8, 2011 - New York

I was raised amongst the sempervirent woods where camping wasn’t a trip, it was a routine. Now that I live in the city, my tattered and mud-stained asymmetrical clothes had to be dried against the bricks of buildings.
There are vast differences that are reminiscent of the mountains: I don’t forget that it rains whether I am taking shelter under clean mesh tents or splattered draped anoraks. I don’t forget that it is important to take cover against wind tunnels as between slouching boulders or layered metal. I have been taught well by the precipitous floods.

Typically I have no problem with accessories, but today I am a bit bothered by dangling accoutrements; all a person needs it to cover their upper and lower body parts, no more. I am ready for the tea party - ready to leap into the patches of sunny azaleas with my younger siblings and cousins. I feel effortlessly pleasant while I maintain my classy sophistication, never will I be portrayed as spurious.

“Do tell me why I got the feeling that the little angels didn’t delight my company as much as I did theirs?,” pondered the baroness, resting her delicate features against her white glove. (The 25-mph wind was blowing against her rosy cheeks and her sunhat had to be held down by a white silk scarf; she was in the passenger’s side of her fiance’s Morris Cowley.) It was because she was assiduously correcting the invisible dirt and feathers on her thin & diaphanous dresses instead of playing with the children’s budgies and bright yellow canaries. “Just be natural, and try not to ingratiate yourself into children’s lives, my dear,” but her fiance dared not proclaim this aloud, for fear of her feminist brusqueness.
