Lobotomy for a Egotist - Alexander Wang Fall 2012

There once was a dark Princess who would never cease gabbing away about her achievements and possessions. She rarely considered other people's successful actions as their own, and thought that she was the wisest of them all with the world on a string.
Karma, Destiny, and Fate had been spying on this particular narcissist:
"What a cause! Wait till I get my effect on her!" bossed Karma.
"It is all her. We must show her what she deserves!" agreed Destiny.
But Fate was the most enlightened, "It is out of all control. What ever happens, happens."

Sure enough, the people that the Princess would act pretentious towards abandoned her.
Now who could she boast to, but her own self?
Unable to be heard,
She became trapped

in her own

head.

Reflections of Grandmother Earth - Gary Graham RTW Spring 2012

Gary Graham RTW Spring/Summer 2012

Sept. 6, 2011 - New York

I am going to my grandmother’s chipped baby blue cottage on the edge of the forest where there are mossy trees and lilacs swaying in the slight breeze. Every time I arrive at the clearing, I cannot help but submit to the beckoning of the tall grasses, using their pointy tips to sway me into their embrace. The purl of the nearby brook whispers magical secrets of it's epic past, and the grand old trees ruffle my draping ears as I slip into a dream-like state of wholesome balance with the Earth.
The silky clouds once high up above have now become my carpet - my sanctuary.
My grandmother's cinnamon-raspberry tart calls out, and I awake pleasantly from this reverie. As I arise, I notice the newly cut greens have imprinted themselves upon my dress, just as my grandmother’s tea has reconciled with her respected musty cups.

Inspiration
Chakra means "wheel" in Sanskrit.
Energy moves from one wheel to another.
Balancing chakras takes meditation & practice.
In the end, you are rewarded with balance and finding your purpose in life.
In this Short Story I mentioned the Muladhara, that is, the base or root chakra.
I find that Gary Graham's Spring/Summer 2012 collection reminds me of being "grounded", just as the chakra Muladhara represents.
