How Many Scubas in the Sea? - Nicole Miller Spring 2012

Nicole Miller RTW SS 2012

Mar. 8, 2011 - New York

I’m going diving, down into the world of colourful idiosyncrasies of my bubbly little comrades and our cavernous, dazzling ecosystem of corals in every shape and size. Colours ranging from popping pink to slick silver to barrier blue reflect themselves into sparkly scales - everything has many shades. Even oxygen has it's own body down here.
I am always ready for the water to surround my body, concealing me from prey. But I am also aware to be found by the searching eyes of aqualung-handlers. They find my kind more brilliant than any other in this ocean of possibilities. Perhaps the seagrass has whispered to them, "there aren't any other fish in the sea as this."

I wish we could be sure that these natural wonders would forever remain as an alter to our Mother Earth. These kinds environments do come and go, at least we have documentation of these reefs to show our great great great great grandchildren when coral's extinct. Such a sad catastrophe. :'(
